Treasury Senior Associate

Arena is looking to expand the Treasury Team through the addition of a Treasury Senior Associate to focus on a variety of cash management and hedging tasks. In this role, the individual will be exposed to each step in the origination life cycle of private and syndicated loans, structured financing arrangements, and tradeable securities. The individual will manage the firm's foreign currency exposure and hedging program, investment of unencumbered cash and assist with leverage and subscription facilities. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, resourceful, and have excellent communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor current and proforma foreign currency exposures.

Hedge currency exposures via options, forwards and/or spot transactions.

Monitor unencumbered cash balances and invest in short-term assets.

Work with the firm's Operations team to monitor cash inflows and outflows from existing investments.

Work with senior Treasury team members to build the Treasury team and enhance current processes.

Assist with the implementation, management and optimization of the firm's new Treasury Management System.

Work with the Capital Markets team to assist with subscription lines, NAV-based lending facilities and other sources of external debt.

Requirements

The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.

Bachelor's degree from a top university, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting).

5-8 years of experience at a securities or investment firm.

Excellent Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) skills.

Experience with treasury or cash management required.

CFA or CTP a plus.

Experience interacting with Prime Brokers, Custodians, and OTC Counterparties a plus.

Experience with foreign currency hedging a plus.
