Job Purpose:

In this position, you will play a key role in defining functional requirements and developing solution concepts to address customer needs across on-asset electronic systems and digital platforms. Your primary responsibility will be gathering new customer connectivity feature requests, refining them, guiding them through the architecture, development, and validation stages, and ensuring they are delivered on time. Additionally, you will collaborate with the customer's digital architecture, platform, and application teams to implement new technologies and evaluate emerging digital solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect customer connectivity feature requests while adhering to policies, practices, and standards for defining both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Work with business teams to understand application needs and collaborate across teams to deliver digital solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Coordinate with other organizations to manage deliverables related to requirements.
  • Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive documentation and requirements, using organized methods, tools, and techniques for requirements analysis.
  • Collaborate with various teams to design the technical framework for applications, including databases, utilities, verification, and validation strategies.
  • Interact with customers from industries like Construction, Resource, Energy & Transportation, and Aftermarket.
  • Assist in developing, prioritizing, and managing the connectivity feature request backlog.
  • Contribute to the technical design of specific applications or solutions (onboard/offboard). Present design alternatives for smaller or moderately complex applications, define tasks, activities, deliverables, and concerns, and assist with reviewing and documenting technical designs.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new digital technologies to enhance existing capabilities.
  • Use specialized development platforms, system, and program design tools in your work.
  • Ensure timely delivery of connectivity features by collaborating with development teams in both ICS and Digital departments, guiding features through the architectural, engineering, forecasting, release, validation, and delivery processes.
  • Communicate the progress of feature requests to stakeholders and customers in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.

  • Application Design and Architecture : Knowledge of application design processes and tools, and ability to convert business requirements into technical application designs.
  • Technical Troubleshooting : Expertise in identifying and solving technical issues in hardware, software, applications, or operations.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with machine systems and/or telematics/connectivity.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end connectivity architecture (from onboard to offboard).
  • Experience with the development and validation processes for onboard and offboard features.
  • Experience managing projects and delivering features using Azure DevOps.
  • Skills in gathering requirements and documenting them in collaboration with customers.
  • Basic understanding of mobile machinery operations, particularly in construction equipment.
  • Experience in developing embedded real-time software for mobile, agricultural, industrial, or off-highway applications.

Soft Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
