Job Description
We are currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for our clients.
Responsibilities- Create clear and concise technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and system specifications
- Gather information from subject matter experts and engineers to understand complex technical concepts
- Organize and structure technical information in a logical and user-friendly manner
- Edit and proofread technical documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines
- Publish and distribute technical documentation to the appropriate stakeholders
- Update and maintain existing technical documentation as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and incorporate changes
- Work with document management systems to organize and store technical documentation
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Technical Documentation Specialist or similar role
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex technical information
- Proficiency in using authoring tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Microsoft Word)
- Experience with document management systems
- Knowledge of style guides and industry standards for technical documentation (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style, S1000D)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
- Familiarity with Aerospace & Defense industry terminology and concepts
- Experience with graphic and visual design is a plus
- Knowledge of XML and structured authoring is a plus
- Working Knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer-aided design software
- Knowledge of Electronic Components for RF Microwave applications
- Knowledge of coding and scripting languages, such as C++, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or other program or declarative languages
