Systems Engineer (Contingent)

Position contingent upon contract award

Aretum is looking for a highly skilled Senior System Engineer to join our innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex systems that meet the operational needs of our government clients. You will leverage your expertise to ensure that our systems are efficient, secure, and tailored to the specific requirements of various projects.

• Design and implement complex systems architecture that meets client objectives and requirements.
• Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for production systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define system requirements and specifications.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system design, configurations, and updates.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines and standards.
• Oversee system integration processes and ensure all systems operate cohesively.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to enhance system performance.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers within the team.
• Engage in risk assessments and initiate mitigation strategies as needed.
• Stay updated with advancements in technology and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in system engineering, including system design and analysis.
• Proven experience with systems integration and project management.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, security protocols, and cloud services.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO) and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Systems Engineering Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
