System Development Engineer, Appstore FTV

Amazon's Appstore services are highly available, mission critical services, handling a very large number of transactions and having a direct impact on the customer experience. Appstore Dev & Purchase support team's vision is to promptly address end customer issues and reduce cost of doing business. Our long range plan is to advance to a product care team which can own legacy business/stack end to end to reduce cost of doing business and purpose bulk of investment towards new Appstore initiatives.

As part of our vision the team is working on migrating the existing services to a new infrastructure to more easily manage capacity, scale fleets up and down, lower time spent on operations, lower costs, and gain access to newer AWS features.

This role involves working closely with our senior SDEs and principal engineers to design, develop and move to the new setup.

You would be responsible for handling systems 100 million+ active customers and designing solutions which scale to next 100 million customers.

You would be responsible for developing and maintaining systems which are latency critical and need high availability.

You will work with a wide variety of technologies and projects that range from third party enterprise solutions to open source and proprietary inventions

You will design solutions which improves service resilience and performance. May improve the customer experience. Reduces cost at a team level.

In Appstore, ?We entertain, and delight, hundreds of millions of people across devices with a vast selection of relevant apps, games, and services by making it trivially easy for developers to deliver?. Appstore team enables the customer and developer flywheel on devices by enabling developers to seamlessly launch and manage their apps/ in-app content on Amazon. It helps customers discover, buy and engage with these apps on Fire TV, Fire Tablets and mobile devices. The technologies we build on vary from device software, to high scale services, to efficient tools for developers.

Basic Qualifications

Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure

Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

Experience with Linux/Unix

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
