Sustenance Quality and QMS Specialist

You will be working with the NPD team in Bengaluru.

This team runs on a hustle mindset with an objective to increase Exponent Energy's market share in the city of Bengaluru and beyond and help more people adapt to 15-minute rapid charging technology achieved by our Flexible Energy Stack, which consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Sustenance Quality Management:

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to sustain quality across all departments.
• Develop and implement supplier quality assurance processes to ensure materials and components meet company and customer standards.
• Work closely with procurement and engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and manage changes in the supply chain.
• Monitor and sustain product and process quality in production and operations.
• Establish supplier performance metrics (KPIs) and report on supplier quality trends.
• Perform regular inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Address quality issues by initiating corrective and preventive actions to eliminate root causes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent quality levels and address customer feedback.

QMS Process Improvement & Compliance:

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and other relevant standards.
• Develop and document QMS processes, procedures, and work instructions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Lead internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up on findings.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, including policies, procedures, and records, to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Manage the documentation lifecycle, including control, revisions, and archival processes.
• Drive the closure of non-conformities and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
• Train employees on QMS policies, procedures, and best practices to promote awareness and adherence to quality standards.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving:

• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone diagrams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier and internal process quality.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring supplier and process readiness.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including supplier and audit documentation.
• Stay current with industry standards, trends, and best practices.

Customer & Supplier Interface:

• Act as a liaison for quality concerns between customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Address and resolve customer complaints and non-conformances promptly and effectively.
• Conduct supplier quality assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with company requirements.

About the candidate

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Min 8 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, IQC / IPQC, QMS implementation, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and other equivalent quality standards.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management tools and techniques (SPC, FMEA, CAPA, APQP etc.).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and supplier management.
• Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in using QMS and ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
