Survey Technician

• Creates or helps to create topographicsurveys. Researches, reads and plot deeds. Prepare parcel maps and Land Titlesurveymaps. Learn to write metes and boundsdescriptions based on theSurveyors final boundary solution.
• Prepares final topographic and boundarysurveys
• Perform site visits of jobs when needed and may accompanysurveycrew to locate and collect data required
• Assists in the analysis and preparation of reports, maps, drawings and aerial photographs
• Learns to read and understand civil, architectural and structural plans and prepare construction staking based on these plans
• Prepares and organizes field data to use in the preparation of final drawings
• Prepares preliminary construction, topographic and boundarysurveys for review and further direction by the RPLS or Project Manager
• Assists RPLS or ProjectSurveyor on job requirements with briefing/debriefing single or multiplesurveyfield crews

Requirements

• Candidates must have at 1-2 years of officesurveyexperience using AutoCAD.
• Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with CarlsonSurveysoftware.
• Basic records research experience
• Working knowledge of GPS Data acquisition and processing.
• Experience with Trimble Business Center and TSC3/TSC7 data controllers.
• Understand design layouts, boundary and topographicsurveys and construction staking.
• Understandsurveying terminology and can operatesurveying equipment including total stations, transit and levels.
• Ability to draft LegalDescriptions
• Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with a strong mathematical aptitude.
