Job Summary The Substance Abuse Counselor provides structured, evidence-based group and supportive counseling services to individuals participating in an outpatient Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role focuses on substance use disorder treatment, relapse prevention, life skills development, and client engagement. The counselor works as part of a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and promote long-term stability. Key Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in substance use disorder treatment or related behavioral health setting
  • Experience working with rural or underserved populations preferred
  • Knowledge of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) principles
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices, including:
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Trauma-Informed Care
