Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Structural Engineer III to be based in the Boston, MA office.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs structural design for buildings and transportation structures and prepares related engineering calculations and structural modeling.

Building types may include but are not limited to commercial buildings, government buildings, rail stations and airport terminals.

Prepares structural analysis and Revit BIM models for various structures and coordinates with different disciplines 3D models.

Provides technical or operational guidance to graduate engineers.

Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

Prepares technical specification sections.

Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

May conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

Coordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Signs off and approves their own work.

May telecommute.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a:

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field

2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Structural Engineering-related occupation.

This position requires experience in the following:

1. Structural Analysis and modeling software including ETABS, STAAD, RAM, SAFE, SAP, RISA 3D, Visual Analysis, Perform 3D, and Abaqus;

2. Structural Drafting Tools including AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation;

3. Structural Design tools including TEDDS, SAP2000, Mathcad, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, and Enercalc;

4. Familiar with current structural engineering code and regulation, including CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ACI 318, ACI 530, AISC 341, AISC 360, NDS and SDPWS;

5. Structural building design including high-rise building, historical building retrofit, metal stud construction, steel modular housing, post-tensioned construction, two-stage analysis building, masonry building, and light wood-frame building.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $78,619.00 - $145,445.00.
