KBR is looking for a Structural Engineer - Work Group Lead to join our downtown Houston based team!

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Responsible for design, specification, and services related to structures and foundations made of concrete, steel, wood, or engineered products for structures, platforms, bridges, pipe racks, buildings, etc.

Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter.

Devises new approaches to problems encountered.

Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include various complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of traditional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.

Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, indirectly impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

BS in Engineering

6+ years of structural experience with an EPC company or Operator, with average experience ranging from 6-10 years.

Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional.

The lead is expected to plan, budget, organize, coordinate, and control the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower-level professionals.

Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.
