Caterpillar Inc. seeks Strategy Manager at its facility located at 14009 N Old Galena Rd, Chillicothe, IL 61523.

Lead cross-functional collaboration with business partners across the organization and outside consultants to gain industry trends and collect voice of the customer and voice of the business to propose ideas for business growth. Lead metrics, dashboards, and support management tools to monitor performance and develop processes to increase sales. Plan and direct all projects viewed as critical to the department and the enterprise. Gather information and assess the market including competitive issues, market dynamics, market service needs and the company position in the industry by securing a leadership role within trade associations, technical bodies, and schools particular to this sector. Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and leverage that information to create customized customer solutions. Communicate the importance of customer needs/expectations and commit to resolving them. Research and verify customer need and expectations. Solicit customer satisfaction feedback and act on improvement opportunities. Help link organizational objectives to customer needs and expectations. Meet regularly with customers to understand their wants, needs and expectations. Use 'value selling' techniques to successfully engage customers. Research customer industries and organizations before attempting sales calls. Discuss issues and consideration regarding current 'value selling' practices and recommend potential improvements. Quantify proposed costs, benefits, and value in customer terms. Define and document value-added activities and their benefits to customers beyond initial sales transactions. Telecommuting: 40% Telecommuting Allowed. 25% domestic and international travel required.

REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in International Business, Marketing Management, Business Administration, or a related field and seven (7) years of experience as a Marketing Consultant, Marketing Analyst, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Construction customer business economics factors and ensuring KPIs are met; (2) Equipment OEM or distributor to drive technology adoption in the construction or mining industries; (3) Telematics solutions and equipment management; (4) Interaction with construction customers to develop an understanding of their operations to apply technology to improve equipment management processes; (5) Documenting customer requirements; (6) Positioning of products in the construction equipment market; (7) Project management skills; and (8) Managing cross-functional projects with team members from multiple disciplines.

Summary Pay Range:

$ 87,838-$217,320

Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market, location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
