What You'll Do:

Your Impact:

Are you willing to serve as a critical team leader to oversee the management and care of the busy and resourcediverse properties in theBeverly area? Then this role may be for you!

The Role:

As the Stewardship Manager,you will oversee the maintenance of all landscapes, buildings and structures, vehicles and equipment, roadways, trails, and lands of four properties including two public gardens. You'll manage a team of full-time and seasonal stewards, providing site-based leadership for all day-to-day operations on our properties, including monitoring, enforcement of regulations, and collaboration with internal and external teams and stakeholders.

Specifically, you'll:

• Identify day-to-day maintenance requirements for all properties.

• Prioritize, schedule, and carry out maintenance and project-based activities.

• Communicate the primary property-based needs based on work order information and site-based knowledge of day-to-day requirements.

• Work with the Senior Regional Stewardship Manager and the Property Director to prioritize funding for necessary property improvements.

• Hire, supervise, and train stewards, seasonal staff, and volunteers, ensuring quality work and a rewarding experience for all involved.

• Participate in assessments for all asset categories on select properties.

• Collaborate with centralized resource teams to plan and execute property maintenance and improvement projects.

• Plan and perform the day-to-day maintenance, stewardship, and conservation of properties, and general maintenance of all buildings and structures.

• Implement seasonal maintenance programs for groundskeeping and landscaping. Conduct snow removal for office buildings, roadways, and parking areas in winter.

• Assist specialist teams as needed in stewardship projects, including invasive species mitigation, building maintenance and improvements, trail and trailhead improvements, and landscape design initiatives.

• Support visitor experience and safety through property patrols, monitoring, ensuring proper wayfinding, and clean and functioning facilities.?

• Use and maintain vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment to the highest safety standards.?Manage scheduling and maintenance of regionally shared equipment, including a mini-excavator and chipper.

• Support signature events and other significant programs.

This is a full-time, exempt position (40 hours/week) reporting directly to the Senior Regional Stewardship Manager.

Requirements

What You'll Need:

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience

• Minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience

• Bachelor's Degree in preferred areas of Environmental Studies, Landscape Maintenance, Horticulture, Property Management, Cultural/Historic Landscapes, or anything similar. (

• Preferred licenses and/or certifications: MA Hoisting2a, Herbicide Applicators, MCA/MCH/MCLP, Wilderness First Aid, and OSHA 10

• Additional certifications and licenses preferred: Electrical Hazard Awareness Program, Leave No Trace Master Educator, S130; S180; S190 Wildland Fire Certificate, Aerial Rescue

• The ability to safely operate, repair and maintain chainsaws, trimmers, brush cutters, mowers and associated landscaping equipment.?

• Basic carpentry and painting skills, and maintaining structures and buildings systems is a plus

• Experience maintaining cultural/historic landscapes, and formal landscape maintenance and related experience preferred.

• The ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as work cooperatively and demonstrate leadership in groups.?

• Ability to complete assigned tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage multiple talks.?

• Basic computer skills and ability to keep good records, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.?

Eligibility Criteria:

• Comfortable lifting 50lbs

• Ability to push and pull heavy objects

• Comfortable in variable weather conditions

• Current authorization to work in the United States a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.

• A valid driver's license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees' driving policy. Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.

• A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
