The Specialist, Systems Engineering RC-135 Simulation Systems oversees the operator/station, datalink, mission management integration, development, upgrades, and use of the Mission Crew Training Simulator (MCTS).

A thorough understanding of the RC-135 mission, aircraft operational capabilities, employment, crew complements, and various supporting ground mission systems is essential.

Essential Duties:

Provides support to RC-135 Rivet Joint aircrew during ground training using the MCTS.

Develops and implements training scenarios, specializing in basic operator, datalink, and mission management functions while interacting with the user during aircrew training events.

Operates the MCTS and associated simulation environment generation processors during mission simulations, Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events, and virtual exercises.

Makes recommendations to improve scenario generation software and to resolve equipment problems.

Maintains the software used to operate the simulator and performs system troubleshooting and repair.

Thorough ability to operate RC-135 mission systems hardware and interpret software performance and platform capabilities .

Ability to effectively interact with and speak system capabilities to high-level officials.

Ability to do periodic shift work depending on customer tasking and periodic travel up to 10% of the time.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of prior experience as a qualified RC-135 mission crew member and/or RC-135 mission trainer/management experience.

Graduate degree with two (2) years of prior experience as a qualified RC-135 mission crew member and/or RC-135 mission trainer/management experience.

In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years prior experience as a qualified RC-135 mission crew member and/or RC-135 mission trainer/management experience.

Must have an active Secret DoD Security Clearance at the time of hire, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI and CI polygraph within 6 months of employment.

Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification or higher within 6 months of hire .

Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Knowledge and experience in LINUX or UNIX.

CompTIA Network+, A+ certification or relative experience.

RC-135 Instructor/Evaluator experience.

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
