Special Attendant Supervisor - Indiana (#R10105)

Location: Various locations across Indiana, including Evansville Psychiatric Children's Center, Evansville State Hospital, Logansport State Hospital, Madison State Hospital, Richmond State Hospital, and the Indianapolis Neurodiagnostic Institute.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: $20.00 /hr(+5.00 overtime premium)

Position Overview:
The Special Attendant Supervisor oversees resident safety, staff performance, and treatment plan implementation in a state-operated hospital facility. This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, including staff recruitment, training, and process improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High School Diploma or HSE required.
    • Licensure: CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
    • Experience: 2+ years in hospital settings, with exposure to psychiatric care.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in behavior modification, de-escalation techniques, and treatment plan implementation.
    • Soft Skills: Leadership, conflict resolution, attention to detail, and crisis management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise staff adherence to safety protocols, de-escalation techniques, and behavior management.
    • Escort residents to appointments, activities, and therapy sessions.
    • Conduct safety checks, contraband searches, and monitor resident conditions/behaviors.
    • Assist in developing patient programming and implementing treatment plans (e.g., supervised medication administration).
    • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance; provide constructive feedback.
    • Collaborate on facility process improvements and quality assurance initiatives.
    • Remain on high alert during extended shifts (up to 16 hours) and respond to emergencies.
