The Shift Lead at TA Travel Center is responsible for overseeing store operations during their designated shifts, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role involves managing team members, delivering high-quality customer service, and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met. The Shift Lead serves as a key support to management, fostering a positive work atmosphere while addressing operational challenges as they occur.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operational Oversight: Direct daily operations during the shift to ensure efficiency and compliance with company standards.
  2. Team Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  3. Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through exceptional service and addressing any needs or concerns.
  4. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring proper stock management.
  5. Financial Accountability: Handle cash register operations, including cash management and financial reporting.
  6. Safety Compliance: Uphold safety standards and respond to any incidents or emergencies.
  7. Communication: Regularly communicate with team members and management regarding operational updates and issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in management or business is highly regarded.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a retail or service environment, with supervisory experience being advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective team management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle customer issues efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory and cash management systems.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 50 pounds when needed.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking and organizing merchandise as necessary.
