The Service Technician - Product Support role will be very fluid and versatile. Task assignment will typically come from the PSSR Manager; however, you will receive direction from the Field Supervisor or Service Manager and they will coordinate with the PSSR Manager. Common tasks will include; triage and minor repair of customer and rental units such as regen issues, computer diagnostics across all makes and models, machine delivery and startups, develop relationships with customers and vendors for parts and service, machine evaluation for trade-ins, develop and estimate repair plans, provide hands-on mentoring and assistance for field or shop technicians, timely reporting and billing of services and diagnostics performed, quote and maintain preventive maintenance plans or contracts, advise and quote repairs for customers, other tasks as assigned. This position requires technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and flexibility to ensure effective customer support. The daily responsibilities will be diverse and dynamic.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Direct support responsibilities:

  • Actively support the Service Department through daily engagement to triage calls.
  • Diagnose and correct issues via calls to the customer when possible.
  • Diagnose and correct minor issues, regen or code concerns on site.
  • Support technicians that need technical assistance, training or hands-on assistance.

Product Support responsibilities:

  • Manage assignments and daily activities.
  • Assist in managing preventive maintenance for Bane Machinery assets and Customer Maintenance Agreements, as directed by the Product Support Manager.
  • Perform or support trade evaluations, machine deliveries / setup, and customer familiarization of units.
  • Actively engage with existing and potential customers to grow sales of parts and service.

Operational responsibilities:

  • Mentor and Train, sharing your knowledge and experience to develop technicians and SOPs.
  • Manage and support special projects as needed.
  • Support Service, Parts and Sales departments acting as a liaison to address customer or vendor concerns as needed.

Miscellaneous responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED or vocational training/certification.
  • 2-5 years' experience in the same or similar industry.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with hydraulics, electrical, electronic systems, pneumatics, diagnostics and calibration.
  • Owns and maintains personal tool inventory.
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude, safe work habits, a good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions. Works with minimal supervision, customer service oriented, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, able to adapt to the people and environment around them.
  • Communicates professionally, respectfully and honestly at all times and communication is to be clear and language is to be profanity free while employee demeanor is to be calm and composed.
  • Makes sound decisions to solve problems
  • Champions and adapts to change and continuous improvement
