Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is looking for an experienced state income and local tax professional to join the team

as a Senior Tax Analyst. The ideal candidate will have broad state tax technical knowledge as well as practical experience in all aspects of state corporate income tax compliance. This role will report to the Senior Manager of State Tax and is a key contributor to the Company?s state tax operations.

Your Impact

Deliver a full range of State and Local Tax compliance services including state tax return preparation, state tax estimates, and state tax extensions

Prepare State and Local Tax supporting workpapers, such as apportionment (sales, property, payroll), credits, inclusions, and other state specific adjustments

Maintain the State and Local Tax compliance calendar with entities, groups, and filing combinations

Support the quarterly tax provision processes and documentation requirements regarding state tax matters to ensure accurate and timely US GAAP tax provision calculations and disclosures

Monitor state and local tax updates and legislation to support overall tax function

Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of potential exposure

Support efforts and responses to inquiries from state auditors

Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Your Experience

+ Minimum 5+ years of related experience with - previous Big 4 experience a plus

Bachelor's Degree and or Masters in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent military experience required

Highly proficient with Excel and comfortable working with different IT applications

Proficient with Corptax Compliance Software

Must be self-directed, with strong organizational skills, and receptive to working in a remote,dynamic, and fast-paced environment

Analytical mind-set to approaching problems and strong attention to detail

The ability to operate independently, represent the tax function in cross-functional settings,make decisions and advise the business

Ability to manage multiple projects, and prioritize work, and coordinate with internal andexternal stakeholders

Excellent oral and written communication skills and

+ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

+ Energetic, positive attitude and always looking for ways to improve

Must be located in Plano, TX area to be onsite

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $98000-$156000/YR.
