Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation & Test Engineer with deep hands-on experience in Katalon Studio , strong manual testing expertise, and exposure to multiple QA automation and performance testing tools. The ideal candidate will design scalable automation frameworks, strengthen test processes, and ensure the quality of enterprise-grade applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement automated test cases using Katalon Studio for Web UI, Mobile, and API testing.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks and maintain custom utilities/libraries.
• Perform comprehensive manual testing including functional, regression, system, and exploratory testing.
• Work closely with development, product, and business teams to refine requirements and create effective test strategies.
• Integrate automated workflows into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Conduct API automation using Katalon, Postman, or RestAssured.
• Analyze test failures, log defects, and drive root cause analysis with engineering teams.
• Ensure end-to-end test coverage and maintain traceability across requirements, test cases, and defects.
• Perform data validation and backend testing using SQL queries.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and champion QA best practices and automation standards.
• Stay current with new testing tools, frameworks, and QA methodologies.
• Should be flexible in working hours , extend till US EST Noon hours.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Katalon Studio (Web, API, Data-driven testing).
• Proficiency in Groovy/Java scripting for building custom Katalon functions.
• Solid manual testing experience (functional, regression, UI/UX validation).
• Knowledge of Selenium WebDriver , TestNG/JUnit concepts, and automation architecture.
• Experience with REST API testing using Postman, Katalon API, or RestAssured.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools : Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with test management tools: JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, qTest .
• Understanding of software engineering principles, SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Additional QA Tools & Modern Technologies (Expanded)

• Experience with automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright (bonus).
• Mobile automation experience with Appium (Android/iOS) is a plus.
• Performance testing tools: JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, BlazeMeter .
• Security testing exposure with OWASP ZAP , Burp Suite (optional).

+ Cloud-based testing platforms:

• BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest
• Cloud execution grids (Selenium Grid, Selenoid)
• API mocking tools: WireMock, MockLab, SoapUI .
• Reporting tools: Allure Reports, Extent Reports, Katalon Reports , JUnit XML.
• Source control tools: Git, Bitbucket, GitLab .

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Familiarity with microservices testing and contract testing using PACT .
• Exposure to containerized testing using Docker .
• Experience with database testing tools and ETL testing.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7?10+ years of QA experience , with 2+ years in automation using Katalon Studio .
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced enterprise Agile environments.
