Senior Software Engineer

CurbWaste is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will participate in building and maintaining highly reliable applications and APIs used by our customers. We are looking for someone who will align with our own passion for delivering an innovative, world-class product that makes our customers successful and gives them joy along the way. The ideal candidate has an eye for high-quality code, best practices & industry standards and takes pride in the features, product, and codebase they're working on. In this position, the candidate will work closely with the Head of Engineering, Product Managers, and stakeholders to execute on the product roadmap in an effort to address business and customer needs.

• Take on challenging projects, everything from refactoring to developing new complex features. You will have a lot of autonomy to put into practice what you have learned and implement your ideas for improvement
• Work with engineers, product managers, QA team, Customer Success team, and leadership in a highly collaborative environment where everyone shares ownership of the company's success
• Work on making our application scalable through code, architecture & infrastructure
• Work in an agile environment
• Lead by example in being a craftsman in software development. Champion testing & automation
• Encourage habits around technical excellence, evolutionary design, and lifelong learning

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in developing server applications in Javascript or Typescript
• Experience in building and deploying highly reliable applications and APIs and keeping such applications up 24x7.
• Proficiency in API building & design
• Experience in Node.js & React
• Experience designing SQL tables, choosing indexes, tuning queries
• Experience in AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
• Excellent communication skills and an exceptional eye for detail
• You enjoy writing clean code that is easy to maintain and understand
• Must be based in the US or Canada, with a valid work permit
