1. Delivering High-Quality Software Solutions

• Build and maintain critical enterprise solutions using Java, Spring, REST APIs, and relational databases.

• Ensure software is secure, maintainable, and future proof by implementing OOP principles, design patterns, and best coding practices.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions to enhance system reliability.

1. Mentorship & Team Development

• Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

• Conduct and lead code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.

What you'll get to do

Here's how you'll get to make that happen: You're a full-stack engineer and are interested in learning and applying the technologies and frameworks in our stack and are experienced working within agile development teams that apply and experiment with practices such as emergent design, infrastructure automation and continuous delivery. You have a willingness to jump into our legacy code to improve it when needed and are excited in learning about how our industry operates!

What will you be doing: Joining our engineering team at Serko, you'll play a crucial role in developing critical features for our enterprise corporate customers. In this role you will

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications using Java technologies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.

• Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues.

• Technically support junior team members.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive.

What you'll bring

You will contribute through your expertise in:

• Full Stack Engineering experience

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.

• Experience with Java frameworks such as Java /J2EE, Spring framework, HTTP, REST/SOAP APIs, Struts, Maven, JavaScript, HTML/CSS

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle/MySQL).

• Knowledge in monitoring and improving performance of applications.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• A professional experience of minimum 5 years and above in relevant tech stack

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• An added advantage if you hold an experience in DevOps, Cloud Computing, Knowledge on security best practices in authentication, authorization, Encryption/Decryption and data protection is a plus, Experience with code quality tools, Accessibility and in Microservices, Understanding of TDD practices
