Who You'll Work With

The Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group seeks an experienced Engineer to deliver software solutions for our Service-Provider/ Data Center/Enterprise products. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in development of flexible software in DSE for the next generation networking products.

What You'll Do

As part of a diverse Cisco IOS XR team, you will play an integral part in software development process. A successful candidate for this role can be flexible, quickly learning new skills and taking responsibility for tasks and features. You will be solving new problems and tackling new challenges every day, with a focus on quality and attention to detail, supported by a team of fellow engineers to deliver new functionality and improvements to our customers. You will be developing a new feature or a fully automated test, investigating a problem, or using our test tools to ensure that our software is always high quality. Technology that you work in could be in Programmability, Routing Infra, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

BE/B.Tech degree in CS/EE/CE or technical equivalent and 6-11 Years of IT industry experience is must

Proficiency in "C" (multi-threaded environment) coding language.

Experience in Routing Technologies, OSPF, ISIS, BGP

protocols.

Unicast/Multicast Forwarding experience would help too.

Understands advanced architecture principles and design practices

Creative problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills

Good understanding of concepts in operating system, Inter process communication, high availability etc.

Experience in manageability frameworks such as Yang/SNMP/XML is a plus

Strong written and verbal communication

Excellent teamwork skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals

Self-motivated and highly ambitious

Familiarity with Unix/Linux. Experience using RTOS (ex: QNX, VxWorks)

Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (ex: TCP/IP, Multicast)

Good to Have

Scripting language Python is required.
