Senior Software Development Engineer

Pushnami is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Software Development Engineer to join our high-impact Engineering team. In this role, you'll design and deliver reliable, scalable software that supports our high-volume messaging platform and critical business operations. You will collaborate closely with Product, Data, and InfraOps teams to architect and build modern systems that are core to how we grow, innovate, and serve our customers. We're seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, thinks strategically about system architecture, and takes pride in turning complex problems into simple solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, scalable software solutions that power Pushnami's core systems and customer-facing products.
• Own full lifecycle software development, from architecture and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, including clean code, automation, documentation, and observability.
• Lead the technical execution of strategic projects and mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate modern technologies to improve system performance, developer velocity, and reliability.
• Contribute to platform stability by implementing proactive monitoring, alerting, and auto-healing mechanisms.
• Ensure the security and scalability of services across multi-cloud or distributed environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.); Master's degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in full-stack or backend software development with a strong track record of shipping production-grade systems.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, or Node.js (we use all three).
• Deep understanding of microservice architectures, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), including services like Lambda, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, and RDS.
• Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI), infrastructure as code (Terraform a plus), and automated testing.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and system analysis skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work closely with non-technical stakeholders and articulate tradeoffs clearly.
• A high degree of autonomy and ownership; able to drive projects from ideation to production independently.
