Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst

(Contract-to-Hire), (Onsite Position)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst

to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to manage sales and use tax compliance, audits, and reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment and support strategic efforts to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns and reconciliations.

Manage exemption certificate compliance, including maintaining software and resolving potential tax exposures.

Review purchase invoices to confirm tax determinations and identify reverse audit opportunities.

Provide recommendations to leadership for minimizing tax exposures and implementing best practices.

Conduct technical tax research and document findings as needed.

Support governmental sales and use tax audits, including gathering documentation and assisting with audit strategies.

Assist with month-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met.

Stay current on changes to tax laws and business activities that impact tax compliance.

Address inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders regarding tax matters.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in sales and use tax within a corporate tax or public accounting setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with OneSource Tax Determination and Compliance systems.

Proficiency with certificate management software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Experience with CCH or similar tax research tools.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.

Location: This position is onsite at our offices located west of Milwaukee, in the Greater Milwaukee area.
