The Precision Navigation (PNav) Hardware department is seeking an Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join the Air Traffic Navigation, Integration and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) Mechanical and RF section. The ideal candidate would be familiar with both RF and Digital Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, development, integration, and test. The candidate must be comfortable engaging with suppliers during builds and resolving obsolescence issues. The candidate must possess the ability to debug electrical issues in the lab. The candidate would primarily support all contracts on the ATNAVICS program. Contracts include sustainment for US military and production for an international contract.

What You Will Do

Perform minor CCA redesigns and associated DVT testing

Perform troubleshooting and repairs in lab to support field LRU return

Identify form, fit, function replacements for obsolete components to support the quarterly obsolescence report

Identify and document redlines to existing ATNAVICS documentation

Support suppliers during build process to help resolve any issues

Support manufacturing to troubleshoot electrical or RF issues found during refurbishments or production

Potential to support other Collins business areas as needs arise

Up to 10% travel to Largo, FL may be required

Qualifications You Must Have

Extensive knowledge of microwave and digital circuit design

Experience with Electrical Engineering design tools for circuit and electromagnetic simulation (Keysight ADS, CST, or equivalent)

Experience in a lab environment operating RF and standard test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.

Ability to perform and report EVMS data

Experience leading a team of multiple engineers

Willingness to support efforts that require domestic travel and potential international travel

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Understanding of radar system theory

Experience to Printed Wiring Board (PWB) manufacturing

Experience with schematic capture and board layout tools

Experience with taking a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete hardware design, and then verify the design via test and integration

Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate?s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
