The Senior Mobile Developer (Android) will focus on designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, user-centric Android applications for Paxful's global platform. This role requires expertise in Android development, a passion for delivering seamless user experiences, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You will play a critical role in enhancing Paxful's mobile ecosystem, contributing to feature development, performance optimization, and app scalability.

What will you do:

• Design and develop native Android applications that deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define, implement, and deliver new features.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable Kotlin code, adhering to best practices in Android development.
• Optimize app performance for various Android devices, ensuring smooth functionality across different screen sizes and OS versions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues to maintain app stability and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to improve overall team performance.
• Stay updated with the latest Android frameworks, tools, and trends to incorporate best practices.
• Integrate backend APIs into Android applications, ensuring data consistency and security.
• Develop unit and UI tests to ensure app reliability and quality.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment using tools like Gradle or GitLab CI.
• Support the implementation of advanced features, such as blockchain integration and self-custody wallet functionalities, where applicable.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and familiarity with Java.
• Deep understanding of Android frameworks and tools.
• Examples: Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Retrofit, and Room.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs.
• Ability to seamlessly integrate backend services into the Android app.
• Knowledge of mobile design patterns and architecture.
• Examples: MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and testing frameworks.
• Experience with Gradle, Espresso, and Firebase Test Lab.
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills.
• Familiarity with Android Studio Profiler and other profiling tools.

Recommended Skills:

• Knowledge of cryptography and blockchain-related mobile integrations is a plus.
• Familiarity with mobile security best practices, including secure storage and encrypted communications.
• Experience with analytics and tracking tools (e.g., Firebase, Amplitude).
• Contributions to open-source Android projects or technical communities.
