For one of our clients, we are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer, remotely from the United States.

As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing mainframe applications in a high-performance environment. Your expertise in IBM mainframe technologies will be pivotal in ensuring the stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of mission-critical systems. You will collaborate closely with team members and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions, while also providing technical support to customers and internal teams.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements for mainframe applications.
• Provide direct technical support to customers, troubleshooting issues, and answering inquiries via email and phone.
• Collaborate with sales teams, answering technical questions and assisting with product demos.
• Engage in Quality Assurance testing to verify the stability and functionality of products.
• Maintain and update technical and customer-facing documentation for product updates, fixes, and enhancements.
• Research emerging mainframe technologies and explore opportunities to integrate them into existing solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in mainframe development, including proficiency in IBM Assembler, COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
• Deep knowledge of z/OS internals, services, and interfaces.
• Expertise in VSAM internals, interfaces, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with CICS/TS programming (API) and z/OS systems software development.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members effectively.
