Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer

This position is contingent on contract award

First Division Consulting is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer to support a Department of the Navy (DoN) customer in Dahlgren, VA . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, design, and implementation of reliable, scalable, and resilient IT infrastructure solutions , ensuring optimal performance and security across landline, cellular, voice, video, data, and wireless communication networks .

This role requires expertise in network engineering, infrastructure planning, and technical design documentation , with proficiency in Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD to create and modify infrastructure schematics and blueprints.

• Develop and design IT infrastructure solutions to support mission-critical operations.
• Design and implement scalable and resilient network infrastructure across landline, cellular, voice, video, and wireless communication networks .
• Utilize Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD to create, update, and maintain network diagrams and technical schematics .
• Perform complex network engineering tasks , ensuring efficiency, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, cybersecurity, and facilities teams , to optimize infrastructure architecture .
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and DoN IT security policies .
• Provide technical guidance and expertise on IT infrastructure best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Six (6) years of professional experience in network infrastructure design, including:
• Landline, cellular, voice, video, and data networks .
• Wireless communication technologies .
• Active Secret Clearance Required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD for network and infrastructure design.
• Experience performing complex network engineering tasks and optimizing IT infrastructure.
• BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting DoD or Navy IT infrastructure projects .
• Strong knowledge of network security principles, compliance requirements, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks .
• Familiarity with fiber optic cabling, structured cabling design, and physical infrastructure planning .
• Understanding of cloud-based network infrastructure solutions .
