Senior Estimator

Singleton Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading project bids and preparing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects throughout the company. The Senior Estimator will collaborate closely with directors, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate estimates, maintain cost control, and provide strategic input that aligns with company goals.

In this role, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for negotiating costs and managing the bid process from start to finish.

This is a new role at Singleton Construction and offers significant opportunities for growth and career development within Singleton.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work for commercial construction projects.

Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop comprehensive and accurate project estimates.

Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and budget requirements.

Research and source materials and subcontractors to ensure optimal project cost-efficiency and quality.

Review historical data to enhance estimating accuracy and refine cost models.

Present estimates and budgets to internal teams and clients, explaining variances and options as needed.

Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and by maintaining a thorough understanding of market conditions.

Utilize construction software (such as Procore) for efficient estimation and project tracking.

Stay updated on industry trends, cost fluctuations, and best practices to maintain competitive and accurate pricing strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; OR equivalent experience.

10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating

Proven experience with commercial construction projects and a strong understanding of project budgeting and cost management.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore) and Microsoft Office, and SmartSheet

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
