Senior Database Engineer

You will be a vital member of the CloudOps Database Engineering team . The critical scope includes working as a database engineer responsible for collaborating with the Katalon Platform product teams to architect, deploy, maintain and support databases for the Katalon Platform of Products for customers in our Katalon Cloud hosted environment.

These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Build and maintain AWS Aurora PostgreSQL databases for Single Tenant SaaS solution - aligning the security, compliance, performance, and resilience requirements of the Katalon Platform databases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions for new and existing projects, ensuring adherence to Katalon database standards.
• Perform database tuning and optimization to provide maximum performance.
• Monitor database systems to ensure data integrity, availability and cost-effectiveness.
• Assist the Functional Business, Application Development and Technical Teams to provide release management support
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
• Perform major and minor release upgrades utilizing strategies that provide for the least downtime.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience acting as a PostgreSQL database administrator

• Experience designing and building relational databases
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Hands-on experience with AWS is mandatory)
• Experience with various administration and development platforms for PostgreSQL (eg.,pgAdmin)
• Expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries in PostgreSQL
• Experienced working in an Agile, ITIL Process, fast-paced DevOps environment
• Experience building scripts on UNIX / LINUX
• Demonstrate sound logical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good at English in communication skills, including oral and written
• A bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field or equivalent work experience is preferred but not required.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of source control: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
• Knowledge of additional database architectures such as MySQL and Redshift Experience with partitioning and/or sharding
• Experience with Terraform
