Job Description


The Senior CAD Technician is part of the Fort Worth Transportation design team involved in a variety of public sector projects including public infrastructure improvements (TxDOT) (i.e., drainage, water, etc). The position is a lead technical support role in the Fort Worth office.

Responsibilities
  • Using established CAD standards to prepare electronic drawings from development to plan submittal.
  • Oversight of CAD systems management, refinement and evolution of standards and workflows
  • Organizing and scheduling your own work, and at times, the work of other team members to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules
  • Coordination with engineers and other design team members
  • Plotting and assembling construction plans

Requirements

Education/Certification

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Post-high school technical coursework, certification or degree in computer drafting/design or related field preferred

Professional

  • Responsive and results oriented in service to clients
  • 8-10 years of civil CAD experience and understanding on a variety of projects including public infrastructure improvements (emphasis on MicroStation ORD 3D Corridor development)
  • Proficient in the latest version of Microstation/ORD, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and adopt new CAD standards and procedures
  • Commitment to quality in the design and presentation of drawings
