For one of our clients, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer, remotely from the US.

In this role, you'll join a forward-thinking engineering team dedicated to simplifying and enhancing automation management for users worldwide. You will design and develop scalable backend systems to streamline how users organize, monitor, and expand their workflows. You'll collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to create robust APIs and backend services, ensuring seamless user experiences as workflows grow. Your contributions will directly help users save time, reduce friction, and enhance productivity.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the design and development of backend features, ensuring timely and incremental delivery of value to customers.
• Develop and maintain scalable APIs to support internal teams and user-facing services.
• Provide documentation and collaborate with Staff Engineers to align with broader architectural goals.
• Monitor system health and optimize performance for reliability and availability.
• Mentor and support junior engineers to enhance team growth and development.
• Identify and resolve bugs while addressing feature requests based on user feedback.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building distributed, scalable web applications, with at least 5 years focused on backend development.
• Proficiency in Python for developing web services.
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with event-based technologies like Kafka or SQS.
• Proficiency in monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog for system health optimization.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira for project management.
