Scientist, Network Capacity Forecasting

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Network Capacity Forecasting (NCaF) team mission is to support AWS Networking teams with data-driven planning to build and maintain a cost-effective network. We achieve this by creating services and platforms leveraging rigorous scientific modeling, state-of-the-art ML tools and software best practices. Our services enable analytics, modeling, and forecasting of demands, including requirements from customers and services as well as network hardware and associated materials required. Our platforms enable productization of ML enabled services across networking teams.

Basic Qualifications

PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience

3+ years of building models for business application experience

Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
