Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is a language services provider that offers in person, video, over-the-phone, and written options for translation, interpretation, ADA remediation, transcription, language assessments, voice over, and website localization.

Founded in 2010 by mother and son duo Jennifer Hanna and Tom Elias Hanna in their garage in San Diego, CA, Hanna has grown to more than 65 employees, served over 1 million non-English speakers to date in 200+ languages, and has sponsored countless outreach events to serve the local community.

Whether a healthcare provider needs an interpreter to help during an emergency or an organization needs to translate their website in multiple languagesthey call us because we have the experience and the relationships to make their jobs easier.

As an Interpreter Coordinator and Dispatcher, you will be working with our network of interpreters to schedule and dispatch interpreters for in-person, video, and telephone interpretation jobs. Days are filled with scheduling, phone calls, emails, texts, negotiating, problem solving, and critical thinking.

We service a high volume of interpreting jobs each day, so you will be busy and the day will fly by. A successful Interpreter Coordinator and Dispatcher is cool under pressure and welcomes a challenging day. If you prefer to work in a quiet and/or slower pace, this position is not the right fit. Our coordinators are a fun group, because they love what they do, why they do it, and who they do it with!

Responsibilities:

• Interpreter Coordination: Manage a team of skilled interpreters, maintaining their schedules, ensuring their readiness for assignments, and supporting them throughout the process.
• Dispatch Excellence: Efficiently assign interpreters to appointments based on their expertise, location, and availability while juggling time-sensitive demands.
• Client Communication: Liaise with clients to understand their language service needs and ensure a smooth interpretation process, while providing exceptional customer service.
• Problem Solving: Tackle logistical challenges head-on, adapting to last-minute changes and ensuring that all parties are well-informed and comfortable with the revised arrangements.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to identify areas for process optimization and contribute to the enhancement of our interpreter coordination and dispatch systems.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with interpreters, clients, and internal teams.
• Adaptability and composure under pressure, ensuring a high level of professionalism in all situations.
• A passion for languages, cross-cultural understanding, and an eagerness to make a positive impact.
• Previous experience in interpreter coordination, dispatch, or related fields is a plus, but not mandatory for candidates with the right attitude and aptitude.
