Job Description

Chamberlain Hrdlicka seeks a senior associate or counsel level attorney with 5-10 years tax controversy experience to be resident in our Philadelphia office and split time between federal tax controversy (working primarily with the Philadelphia and Atlanta offices) and SALT controversy working with the SALT Practice Chair in Philadelphia. Although state and local tax (SALT) controversy experience is not a prerequisite, some experience in SALT controversy work is preferred. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with federal and/or SALT tax controversy disputes, including audits, appeals and litigation, as well as experience with substantive federal and/or state and local tax issues. The ideal candidate also will have law firm, accounting firm, IRS, Tax Court, Department of Justice (Tax Division) experience, and/or Pennsylvania or Philadelphia Departments of Revenue experience. An LL.M. in Tax is preferred but not required. Candidate must have excellent academic and employment credentials with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form with strong attention to detail. Successful candidate must have the ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as within a team environment involving collaboration with other attorneys, paralegals, and office staff. Must be admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. Relocation assistance is offered for this position.
