Roadway Design Engineer

Design and develop roadway geometric layouts, profiles, and cross-sections for various transportation projects.

Conduct traffic analysis and assessments to ensure safe roadway design, including capacity analysis and traffic flow studies.

Prepare design calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway construction projects.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental engineers, to ensure cohesive project development.

Review and interpret design codes, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance during the roadway design process.

Prepare reports detailing design decisions and recommendations, and participate in client and agency meetings.

Conduct field investigations and site assessments to inform design decisions.

Assist in the preparation of contract documents and bid packages.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in roadway design and transportation engineering.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Strong understanding of roadway design principles, standards (AASHTO), and traffic engineering practices.

Experience with preparing design plans and specifications for roadway projects.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
