Ladas & Parry LLP seeks Registered Patent Agents for Chicago, IL to prepare patent technical and design specifications/applications. Draft and prepare patent applications for submission to the U.S. patent office (USPTO), Chinese patent office, and European patent office. Conduct international patent and registered design search and analysis and prepare patentability advice for clients. Perform patent and scientific literature searches and analysis relating to patentability, validity, and infringement. Assist attorneys with prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO and preparing Patent Clearance and Freedom to Operate Opinions. Advise on patent filing strategies under U.S., Hong Kong/Chinese, and PCT international patent filing practice. Associate?s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or any Engineering field plus three years of experience in job offered or in wireless communications engineering required. Required Skills: 2 years of experience with preparing and drafting patent applications; conducting international patent and registered design research for advisory analysis in patentability of an invention; performing patent and scientific literature searches and analysis relating to patentability, validity, and infringement; preparing patent clearance and freedom to operate opinions; preparing design applications; advising on patent filing strategies under U.S, Hong Kong/Chinese, and PCT for international patent filing practice.
