Registered Nurse (Med Surg/Telemetry) - Per Diem Overnights - Greenport, NY (#T10021)

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems, offering services such as case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and providing supportive or restorative care. The RN will execute medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician or dentist authorized to practice at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.

Physical requirements of the Registered Nurse:

• Must be able to lift or assist in lifting patients from bed to chair or standing.
• Ability to respond quickly and communicate effectively in emergent situations, both orally and in writing.
• Must be able to use stairs and carry/push up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to walk, carry semi-heavy equipment, and reach overhead.

Scheduleof theRegistered Nurse:

• This is a Per Diem position
• Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications recommended.
• Minimum of two years of experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry, Hospital, or Emergency Room required.
• Extensive experience in measuring and interpreting vital signs and levels of consciousness.
• Advanced knowledge of best practices in patient care.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, physicians, and other care team members.
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers on post-surgical care at home.
