We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to join a review organization as a Nursing Home Surveyor / Complaint Investigator in New York, NY . This contract role involves traveling to long-term care facilities to assess compliance with state and federal regulations, with a focus on dietary services, patient nutrition, and quality of care.

• Conduct surveys and complaint investigations in nursing homes, including abuse and neglect cases
• Perform surveillance tasks related to nutrition services, patient outcomes, and compliance
• Draft and document Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) using Principles of Documentation
• Monitor and assess Plans of Correction submitted by facilities
• Input accurate data into federal and state reporting systems
• Participate in Immediate Jeopardy monitoring , hearings, and state meetings as needed
• Maintain compliance with DOH work schedules and procedures
• Travel to assigned on-site locations per work assignments

Requirements

• Licensure: Active New York State Registered Dietitian license
• Education:
• Graduate of a Registered Professional Dietitian program
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Experience:
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting (nursing home preferred)
• 2 years of experience in nursing home surveillance preferred
• Certification: SMQT Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
• Other: Valid driver's license and ability to travel to onsite facilities
