Position Summary
The Business Development Officer is responsible for developing and expanding market penetration in assigned locations and markets. Responsible for building and maintaining a robust network of contacts to ensure a consistent pipeline of deals. Drive business growth through proactive prospecting, cultivating new relationships, and strengthening existing partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, conducting onsite visits.
- Source lending relationships on behalf of the Bank in support of achieving market growth goals.
- Ensure compliance with bank lending policies and procedures and regulatory procedures.
- Collaborate with bank leadership to identify and implement marketing strategies and new opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to new Loan and Business Development team members.
- Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with each Business Development Officer.
- Attend local civic and business community meetings and serve as a representative of First Southern National Bank.
- Collect, analyze, and manage data to support decision-making.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing and excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or related field, preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in banking, in a direct lending function.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking rules and regulations.
- Ability to generate significant loan volume in designated markets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong desire to achieve performance goals.
