Job Description

Position Summary

The Business Development Officer is responsible for developing and expanding market penetration in assigned locations and markets. Responsible for building and maintaining a robust network of contacts to ensure a consistent pipeline of deals. Drive business growth through proactive prospecting, cultivating new relationships, and strengthening existing partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, conducting onsite visits.
Source lending relationships on behalf of the Bank in support of achieving market growth goals.
Ensure compliance with bank lending policies and procedures and regulatory procedures.
Collaborate with bank leadership to identify and implement marketing strategies and new opportunities.
Provide guidance and support to new Loan and Business Development team members.
Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with each Business Development Officer.
Attend local civic and business community meetings and serve as a representative of First Southern National Bank.
Collect, analyze, and manage data to support decision-making.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing and excellent customer service.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or related field, preferred.
7+ years of experience in banking, in a direct lending function.
Comprehensive knowledge of banking rules and regulations.
Ability to generate significant loan volume in designated markets.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong desire to achieve performance goals.
