Brown Rudnick is seeking a talented attorney at the associate or counsel level with at least 5 years of experience practicing environmental and real estate law to join its Real Estate, Energy & Environmental Practice Group in the Boston, MA office. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Massachusetts environmental law and a strong track record advising clients on land use, zoning, and regulatory permitting matters. The ability to navigate complex local and state permitting processes and to provide strategic counsel on regulatory compliance is essential. Candidates should also have experience counseling clients on environmental risks and liabilities in the context of real estate and business transactions. A background that includes work related to RCRA, CERCLA, and agency enforcement actions is particularly valuable. In addition to core environmental experience, candidates with a general real estate transactional background and familiarity with construction law will be well suited for this role. Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, or development agreements will be considered a plus.
Brown Rudnick represents sophisticated, large, national, multinational, and regional clients with complex legal matters in a variety of areas including real estate developers, industrial facilities, manufacturers, owners, utilities, and energy producers. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team on complex, high-impact matters that influence development and environmental strategy across Massachusetts and beyond.
- Candidates must have outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm or other experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comparable law firm experience required; clerkship experience preferred.
- JD required
- Admission to the Massachusetts Bar
- Experience with Massachusetts environmental laws, land use and permitting.
