What You Will Do:

Quality Engineers are integral to success as the leaders of problem resolution teams related to part manufacture in the value stream, the drivers of process improvement and educators of technical requirements. They also act as liaisons between Mikro, internal and external customers when discussing quality concerns. In this position, your primary role will be to support the Quality Management systems and production processes. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Provide technical expertise of non-conforming material and support the communication and processing of quality notifications through the Material Review Board (MRB) process

Define and implement plans to support the objective of the business including Quality, CORE, and Financial metrics

Evaluate manufacturing processes and hardware to determine compliance to applicable requirements

Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to improve part quality signature

Improve manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers

Provide quality engineering support (interpretation, process approvals, etc.) to unit workers

Support day to day manufacturing activities such as review and approval of work instructions, risk assessments, process tryout and change control, and first article inspections (FAI)

Use continuous improvement tools as well as the principles of lean manufacturing to investigate non-compliance issues and quality escapes

Act as Customer Liaison and participate in Market Feedback Analysis

Shipment data review and submission

Lead Process Improvement opportunities using CORE OS and Lean Strategies to enhance quality, decrease process cycle time, and reduce operational costs

+ Review and perform as necessary root cause analysis, identifying and implement robust corrective actions and gauge effectively ensuring quality standards are maintained

Perform and support internal and external quality audits

Develop and deliver technical training to the inspection and operations teams

Construct and perform quality presentations to a technical community

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience and a minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience

Associate's Degree with 8+ years of experience in a quality/industrial role and willingness to commit to completion of a 4 year degree program.

US citizenship required due to government contracts

Qualifications We Prefer:

ASQ Quality Engineer certification is highly desirable

Knowledge / experience with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 highly desirable

Experience in aerospace and/or ceramic core or foundry casting facility is highly desired

+ Experience with Quality Notifications/Material Review Board

Strong familiarity with inspection tooling and techniques

Ability to navigate Process Planning software

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines..

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
