Quality Assurance Engineer II, FireTV Product QA

As a QAE on the Fire TV QA team, you will champion the quality of our features in our development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates. You will own authoring and the execution of test plans and test cases. You will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team's speed, quality and efficiency. The candidate will have good hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques and drive quality upstream.

Key job responsibilities

Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs are not pure black box testers, they are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. QAEs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level tests, test execution and reporting.

Internal job Basic Qualifications

4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience

Experience in manual testing

Experience in automation testing

Experience scripting or coding

Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium

Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
