Purchasing Agent

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a purchasing agent in the wholesale industry. As a purchasing agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of products for our company.

In this role, you will review inventory reports, collaborate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demands. You will also be responsible for sourcing new products, evaluating suppliers, and managing relationships.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a keen eye for detail. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make important decisions quickly. Additionally, you should have a comprehensive understanding of the wholesale industry and be familiar with procurement software and systems.

• Source and procure products from suppliers to meet inventory demands
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and terms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine product requirements and specifications
• Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and on-time delivery
• Optimize inventory levels to prevent backorders and minimize holding costs
• Conduct market research to identify new products and suppliers
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field
• Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement role
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with procurement software and systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of the wholesale industry and market trends
