Job Description


The Program Supervisor for the BSAS Low Threshold Housing program is responsible for outreach, assessment, and engagement with program participants. This role includes developing eligibility screenings, managing the program budget, overseeing wait lists, and supervising a team that includes case managers, a housing specialist, and an administrative assistant. The supervisor will collaborate with case managers to assess participant needs, assist in securing safe and affordable housing, and ensure ongoing support for maintaining housing stability. Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Valid driver's license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a reliable vehicle for work purposes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, take initiative, and collaborate within a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, along with organizational capabilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of program participants.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a compassionate approach.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Experience working with individuals facing homelessness and mental health or substance use challenges is essential.
  • Prior experience in helping individuals secure housing is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Candidates with lived experience of homelessness are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to talk and hear, sit for extended periods, and use hands for tasks such as typing and writing. Occasionally, the role involves kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting items up to 40 pounds. Visual abilities necessary for the job include color distinction, visual inspection, and coordination.

Work Environment
The work environment may expose employees to inclement weather and vehicular traffic. Noise levels typically range from quiet to moderate, with most duties performed indoors.
