What your current role should be like:

• Backend Development Expertise: Working on large-scale, distributed backend systems.
• Scalable Architecture & System Design: Designing systems that can scale and are reliable, ensuring a robust infrastructure to meet high availability needs.
• Microservices Development: Experience in building and deploying microservices with a strong emphasis on clean, reusable, and scalable code.
• Real-time Data Processing: Managing and optimizing systems for real-time data processing and transfer in a fintech or consumer-facing environment.
• API Development & Integration: Working with RESTful APIs, Open Banking APIs, and third-party integrations to facilitate seamless transactions and secure data exchange.
• Database Management: Proficiency in SQL databases (preferably: PostgreSQL) to maintain data consistency and optimize for high-velocity transactions.
• Automation & CI/CD: Implementing CI/CD pipelines and working with automation tools to streamline the deployment and monitoring process.
• Security Best Practices: Strong focus on security, especially in handling sensitive financial data, adhering to industry compliance standards.

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction, architecture design, and code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and security of backend services.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Project Management: Oversee project planning, prioritization, and delivery, ensuring timely and quality deployment of features.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams, to align on project goals and deliverables.
• Optimization: Continuously improve system performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and efficiency.
• Growth and Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop top backend engineering talent, conducting regular 1:1s, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
• Hands-On Coding: Step in with hands-on coding when necessary, particularly for critical projects and code reviews.

What do you have?

• Experience: Stable tenure with 3-5 years of experience in backend development with a minimum of 1 years in a leadership role, ideally within a fintech or product-based startup. Experience as an individual contributor, having delivered a project from inception to end-consumer launch.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, and experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Cloud and DevOps: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and familiarity with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to inspire and lead a team of engineers, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and experience in solving complex, high-scale engineering problems.
• B. Tech/ M. Tech from a premier institute.
• Have built and managed critical systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams globally.
• Have recruited and developed high-talent teams.
• Willingness to work in-office, 5 days a week from Gurgaon.
