We are looking for an impact-oriented Product Engineer who is passionate about building polished, high performing payment experiences and excited to grow our consumer adoption across Indepay's payment systems. You will build and enhance applications, SDKs, and services that will run on different partner applications.

In this role, you'll lead the development of high-performance apps and oversee the integration of SDKs, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless, secure, and optimized user experiences on partner applications. Your focus will be on creating scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that align with Indepay's mission to redefine digital payments.

What your current role should be like:

• Android App Development & Optimization: Building and maintaining advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin, especially focusing on scalable, high-performing code for consumer-facing applications.
• Consumer-Facing Product Experience: Proven experience in developing or maintaining a high-traffic Android app with at least 10,000 transactions a day. Experience with product life-cycle stages from design to release and subsequent iterative improvements.
• Collaborate in a 0-1 Product Cycle: Experience in the end-to-end product development cycle, particularly in a startup environment, where you've driven development from ideation to launch in alignment with product managers, UX/UI designers, and back-end engineers.
• Focus on Code Quality & Security: Write high-quality, clean, and efficient code that is modular, maintainable, and scalable. Knowledge of security best practices and data encryption protocols is essential.
• Analyze & Integrate APIs: Strong background in working with RESTful APIs, payment gateways, and other third-party services integral to the payment ecosystem.
• Performance Optimization & Debugging: Able to identify and resolve performance issues, optimize battery usage, and enhance app performance for a smooth user experience on Android devices.
• Agile Methodologies & Tools: Proficient in agile frameworks, version control (Git), project management tools (Jira, Trello), and CI/CD processes.

What will you do?

• Design, build and maintain Android apps and SDKs in Kotlin.
• Develop payment applications for a variety of devices and form factors.
• Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders across the company to bring new features and enhancement to the product.
• Collaborate with Android developers to set best practices for Android development across the company.
• Work with user research and product design to understand users and address their needs focusing more on optimisation and security and performance as well.

What do you have?

• 2-4 years of experience in Android development.
• Stable tenure with experience in a product-based startup.
• Proficiency in Kotlin.
• Willingness to work in-office, 5 days a week from Gurgaon.
• Experience as an individual contributor, having delivered a project from inception to end-consumer launch.
• Ability to guide or lead a team of junior developers.

• B. Tech/ M. Tech from a premier institute.
• Developed and launched your own product.
• Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Bachelor's Degree
