Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with extensive expertise in sourcing electronic components and materials. The ideal candidate will manage the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality parts essential for our manufacturing operations. This role requires a proactive approach to managing the backlog in accordance with sales orders, parts procurement, production schedules, and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers of electronic components, both locally and internationally.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate terms to secure competitive pricing and favorable delivery schedules.

Supplier Management:

  • Develop and maintain a list of preferred suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or service promptly.

Inventory and Demand Planning:

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
  • Monitor MRP demand and exception reports to prepare and distribute purchase orders accordingly.
  • Control company inventory, continuously reviewing levels and adjusting stock as needed.

Production Scheduling and Backlog Management:

  • Drive the backlog in accordance with sales orders, parts procurement, production schedules, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage manufacturing schedules to ensure alignment with production goals and customer requirements.

Logistics and Freight Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of domestic and international freight and logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate product shipments, including reverse material flows, to support production and customer satisfaction.

Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with quality control personnel to address defective or unacceptable goods, ensuring timely resolution with suppliers.
  • Ensure all procured materials comply with company specifications and industry standards.

Market Analysis:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Research and evaluate new suppliers to diversify the supply base and mitigate risks.

Documentation Support:

  • Organize and maintain design and procurement documents.
  • Update and manage BOMs.
  • Use AutoCAD to assist with layout and design as needed.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in procurement, specifically within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of sourcing electronic components and managing supplier relationships.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
