Process Engineer

PURPOSE: Ensures that customer requirements are being met or exceeded through the efficient, productive, cost-effective, and quality conscious use of raw materials, tools, machinery, and manpower

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develops production process improvements to decrease costs, improve labor and equipment utilization and maximize quality
• Evaluates problem jobs and top 40 jobs during production cycle and implements and tracks changes to be made to ensure leaner production and higher quality finished products
• Leads and manages Six Sigma and 5S initiatives; documents results upon completion of projects and ensures that process improvements and results are sustained
• Works with the Quality Department, Sales Department, and Lead Operators on the introduction and qualification of new parts/processes to ensure customer requirements are being met and process efficiency is developed
• Confers with Lead Operators and Machine Operators on problem jobs to provide effective resolution; communicates any issues or necessary changes to the sales department with recommendations for improvements
• Works with sales, suppliers and Lead Operators across all divisions of Seal & Design to order new tools and replace/remake broken or damaged tools
• Assists with any special projects as necessary, including but not limited to; equipment purchases, plant layout, new processes, new jobs, and sales requests
• Develops procedural documentation for all departments regarding correct operating procedure
• Completes part/tool drawings utilizing both AutoCAD and Solidworks, as needed
• Assigned to special projects as needed
• Observes safety and security procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial technology from an accredited college and 5-10 years of manufacturing experience
• Solidworks/AutoCAD experience
• Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with business software and Microsoft office programs
• Excellent communication skills working across a vast demographic of people
• Knowledgeable about basic machine operation and machine capabilities
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow; able to multi-task
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
