Principal Engineer - Integration

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate within an agile team of Front-end and Back-end Engineers and Product Managers to deliver impactful features and enhancements.
• Drive continuous improvement across the codebase with a focus on performance, scalability, and the long-term technical roadmap.
• Investigate, identify, and resolve performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback while ensuring adherence to best practices and optimization standards.
• Recognize and address technical debt to support the ongoing health and scalability of backend systems.
• Champion engineering best practices and promote technical excellence across the team.

Requirements

What You Should Have:

• Proven experience in integrating with multiple external/internal tools and systems.
• Deep knowledge of different integration types: data-in, data-out, and data synchronization.
• Strong expertise with APIsauthentication mechanisms (OAuth, Basic Auth), proxies, data formats (JSON, XML), file/media handling, REST and SOAP APIs, rate limits, endpoint design, and documentation tools like Postman.
• Hands-on experience with FTP/SFTP, AWS S3, and foundational knowledge of data encryption and decryption.
• Preferably experienced with integration platforms (iPaaS) such as Zapier, Workato, or similar.
• Proficiency in Linux environments and scripting languages like Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets for light data manipulation and reporting.
• 5+ years of experience with backend development using Java, Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior or technical leadership role.
• Strong curiosity and eagerness to understand systems and share knowledge with peers.
• Excellent problem-solving and algorithmic thinking skills.
• Capable of working independently while also guiding and supporting team members in navigating complex technical challenges.
