Position description
UCLA Anderson anticipates hiring a postdoctoral scholar in the summer 2026 to work closely with Professors Margaret Shih, Miguel Unzueta, Jennifer Whitson, and other faculty in the Management and Organizations area. This position is intended to promote career growth and broad impact for scientists interested in innovative, rigorous, and applied behavioral science research. This position will have a term of up to 3 years, conditional on satisfactory annual evaluations of research activity.
The position is designed to support talented scientists in making behavioral research contributions that can substantially advance both theory and practice in organizational behavior and social psychology (with an emphasis on intergroup relations, diversity science, and social justice-related research). Before starting this position, the postdoctoral scholar must have their PhD (or at least a successful dissertation defense) in a discipline related to behavioral science (e.g., organizational behavior, social psychology, sociology) and demonstrable skill in advancing behavioral research. Candidates may add further value with a commitment to the success and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students from all backgrounds, with an enthusiasm for building ties across disciplines and across the university, and experience with running experimental design and studies.
Once hired, a successful postdoctoral scholar will be expected to continue their active research programs, as well as to support a departmental research initiatives that will promote the success of our diverse community (e.g., development of new research partnerships, organizing and running lab meetings, mentoring and professional development for students from a broad range of backgrounds). Supplemental support will include a research budget and full access to the services of the Anderson Behavioral Lab.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, two letters of recommendation, a representative manuscript, and a research statement describing their interests (including any specific faculty collaborators and/or projects they would like to pursue as part of their tenure). In order to receive full consideration, please submit your application materials online at https://recruit.apo.ucla.edu/JPF10801.
For questions about this position, please contact Margaret Shih at margaret.shih@anderson.ucla.edu.
